June 9, 2020 Not mine!?!?!?

Reading: 1 Samuel 26, 1 Chronicles 4, and Matthew 18

Scripture: 1 Samuel 26:9, But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him, for who can put out his hand against the Lord ’s anointed and be guiltless?”

Thoughts: No matter who the president or leaders are we are to pray for them and listen to them as long as they do not take away our rights to worship and be the Church. Almost every year for the last 10-20 years you hear about this group or that group saying not my president, whether you voted for them or not, or if you agree with things they do, if you remain a citizen of the United States the are your president. As Saul hunted David he had every right in our eyes to kill him, but he let him live and would not let his servants kill him because Saul was anointed by God. The Bible tells us the God raises up and brings down leaders, even though we may not anoint our leaders the way they did in that time, our leaders are still raised up for a reason and a time. We may not agree with or understand what they are doing but we can pray, we can lift them up and call down a cloud of witnesses to surround them and ask for God to encounter them. God’s ways are not our ways and we cannot understand them.

Prayer: Father you are so wonderful, you take care of us and lead us to green pastures. I thank you that you are in my life, I thank you that you sent your son to bring me into your family. I thank you for your provisions and blessings that you pour out on us every day. I ask that you open the eyes to our leaders, from the president to the local leaders who are working to figure out what is needed and working within the confines of those above them. Pour your wisdom upon them and place those who know you around them and help them to give and receive wise counsel.
