Life Happens

Over the last month and a half I have fallen out of my disciplines, I have been trying to retain as much as possible but with being off work and recovering from surgery. Today I am going to give you what I have been reading and what scriptures stood out to me.   

April 30 

Reading: Deuteronomy 25-27, Galatians 2, and Mark 14

Scripture: Galatians 2:1, Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me.

May 1

Reading: Deuteronomy 28 and Galatians 3

Scripture: Galatians 3:2-3, Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?


May 2

Reading: Deuteronomy 29-30, Psalm 15, Galatians 4, and Mark 15

Scripture: Deuteronomy 30:6, And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

May 3 

Reading: Deuteronomy 31-32 and Galatians 5

Scripture: Galatians 5:12, I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!

May 4 

Reading: Deuteronomy 33-34, Psalm 68, and Galatians 6

Scripture: Galatians 7:12, It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

May 5

Reading: Joshua 1-3, Psalm 94, and Ephesians 1

Scripture: Joshua 2:9, and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you.

May 6

Reading: Joshua 4-5, Psalm 71, Ephesians 2, and Mark 16

Scripture: Joshua 5:1, As soon as all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan for the people of Israel until they had crossed over, their hearts melted and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the people of Israel.

May 7

Reading: Joshua 6-7 and Ephesians 3

Scripture: Joshua 6:12, Then Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord.

May 8

Reading: Joshua 8-9 and Ephesians 4

Scripture: Ephesians 4:2-3, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

May 9

Reading: Joshua 10-11 and Ephesians 5

Scripture: Ephesians 5:1-2, Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

May 10

Reading: Joshua 12-13 and Ephesians 6

Scripture: Ephesians 6:9, “Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.

Reading: Joshua 14-15 and Philippians 1

Scripture: Philippians 1:9-10, And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

May 12

Reading: Joshua 16-18 and Philippians 2

Scripture: Philippians 2:14-15, Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world

May 13

Reading: Joshua 19-20, Psalms 53, and Philippians 3

Scripture: Psalm 53:2-3, God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.
