April 29 Protection in many forms.

Reading: Deuteronomy 23-24, Psalm 91, Galatians 1, and Mark 13

Scripture: Psalm 91:4, He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

Thoughts: We are often told to do things on our own or to toughen up. There are things we need to be able to do on our own and sometime we need to toughen up, but we are also God’s children, and he wants us to be protected. Just as a mother bird will spread her wings to protect her young from everything, God opens his wings to protect us but he gives us the tools to eventually stand up to those things in our lives. Just as the bird starts by protecting eventually the young are kicked out of the nest, are we going to learn from our heavenly father when he has protection for us so that when we are sent out, we will have that what we need to succeed.

Prayer: Lord God we are grateful for the tools you offer us and the protection you give us as we seek and learn to use what you have for us. You grace overwhelms me and the authority that you give opens opportunities to share your love. Open my eyes and heart to the next steps in your path. Lead me and guide me in all I do.
