July 8, 2020 What is your desolate place???

Reading: 1 Kings 4, Psalm 9, Hebrews 6, and Luke 5

Scripture: Luke 5:16, But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.

Thoughts: In most churches, we pray during service we pray when we gather, and we pray when we are in need. In this world of greater and greater connections to society are we finding that desolate place to pray, or at least creating it? Because of the internet this world has gotten extremely connected but yet we struggle more then ever to communicate. Yes, it is nice to go up into the woods where there is no internet or cell signal but that is not always practical. We can make our own desolate place by making a point to turn off our phones and find a quiet place away from the business of our homes. That can be found ether by time or locations. Set aside a place and time to get away from the noise of life and focus on God.

Prayer: Father you are so wonderful, I thank you that you are always listening and always answering our prays. I thank you for my family and the great blessings that are. I thank you for your provisions and blessings you have poured out on us. I ask that you help me to prioritize more to speak to you and listen for your still small voice.
